Posted on February 23, 2015
We recently reported on a thrift store sweater that brought a man $43,000. Another thrift store shopper in Arizona has also hit the jackpot.
Zach Norris of Pheonix, Arizona said he knew when he found a 1959 Jaeger-LeCoultre watch, it was a rare find. The Jaeger-LeCoultre company mane fewer that 1,000 of the same watch. He purchased it for $5.99. He would later sell it for $39,000.
Norris reported he had numerous offers on the watch, but after listing it on a collectors’ website, fetched the above total, giving him and his fiance money to plan for the wedding of their dreams. Not to be forgotten, Norris also donated part of the profits to charity.
You can do it too, Norris says. “Research everything. Jsut take your phone in there and if you see something that looks goofy, you haven’t seen it before, Google it. You never know.”
