I want to organize a fundraiser. How do I get started?

  • Simply click “Bags for Bucks” and submit your contact information. A Donations representative will be in touch soon.

Is the Bags for Bucks program available everywhere?

  • It is available across the Southeast we are in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

What is this program benefiting?

      • For every pound of donations America’s Thrift Stores collects in the state of Alabama, Make-A-Wish Alabama earns a contribution towards granting wishes for children right here in Alabama!
    • Chattanooga Area – Tennessee
      • For every pound of donations America’s Thrift Stores collects in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area, Adult & Teen Challenge of Mid-South earns a contribution providing adults and families with a faith-based solution to overcoming life controlling drug and alcohol problems.
    • Knoxville Area – Tennessee
      • For every pound of donations America’s Thrift Stores collects in the Knoxville, Tennessee area, Make-A-Wish East Tennessee earns a contribution towards granting wishes for children right here in East Tennessee!

How long can I do a Bags for Bucks drive for?

  • The Bags for Bucks program allows you and your school to craft a fundraiser however you see fit! Want to do a week-long collection, just a day, or even a competition with another school? It’s easy! You create it and collect it; we’ll pick it up and pay you for it!

How much will we earn?

  • Your 501c3 will earn $0.10 for every pound of gently used clothing, shoes, books, or household items donated.

How does America’s Thrift Stores assist with the drive?

  • We provide a simple flyer template to plug in your school’s name, cause, and other pertinent drive information. Get creative and promote!
  • We work with you to schedule a pick-up.
  • We provide assistance to help maximize your drive.

What does my organization need to provide?

  • W9 Form must be on file for payment approval
  • The address location of the pickup along with any special door or lobby instructions.
  • Contact name and phone number
  • The Date range you prefer for the pickup.  We will do our best to provide a date within your preferred range.
  • For fundraisers, we recommend having an onsite contact person for the day of the pickup since this involves funds.  
  • If an onsite person is not possible, please tell us where you are placing the labeled items and that we cannot be responsible for missing donation items. 

When will we receive payment?

  • Payment will be released about 10 weeks after the donations are collected.  This allows time for us to weigh, report and process it through our Accounts Payables.

What can be donated?

  • Bags and Boxes only please, no furniture pieces. We accept gently used clothing, household items, toys, and books.
